Handling Production in Garments & Textile

Core Responsibilities

1. Order Execution & Workflow Management

  • Order Planning: Organize the flow of multiple orders simultaneously, ensuring production lines are utilized efficiently.

  • Priority Management: Constantly evaluate order status to maintain delivery priorities based on customer urgency and shipping deadlines.

  • Deadline Accountability: Track every stage of the production lifecycle to ensure 100% on-time delivery of both bulk orders and samples.

2. Technical & Material Management

  • BOM Creation: Develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM), detailing every component required for the garment (fabric, thread, buttons, zippers, labels).

  • Inventory Control: Manage and verify incoming raw materials and accessories; ensure quantities match the order requirements to prevent production halts.

  • Tech Pack Adherence: Ensure all production processes strictly follow the buyer’s technical packages (Tech Packs), including measurements, stitching details, and construction methods.

3. Sampling & Quality Assurance

  • Sampling Lifecycle: Coordinate the development of Proto, Fit, Size-set, and Pre-production (PP) samples.

  • Buyer Approval: Facilitate the submission and feedback loop between the factory and the buyer for all sample stages.

  • Quality Oversight: Collaborate with the QA team to monitor production quality, ensuring the final output meets the specific aesthetic and functional requirements of the customer.

4. Communication & Coordination

  • Vendor Liaison: Communicate daily with fabric and trim suppliers to ensure timely arrival of materials.

  • Internal Coordination: Act as the central point of contact between the cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing departments.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Critical Path Management: Ability to manage "Time and Action" (T&A) calendars to avoid bottlenecks.

  • Analytical Skills: High proficiency in creating and managing data within ERP systems or Advanced Excel.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and consumption calculations.

  • Problem Solving: Quick thinking to resolve shortages in accessories or delays in the production line.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion TechnologyGarment Manufacturing, or Textile Engineering.

    • Diplomas in Apparel Merchandising or Fashion Management are also highly valued.

  • Experience:

    • Typically 3–5 years of experience in a garment production or merchandising environment.

    • Proven track record of handling international buyer accounts and their specific compliance standards.

  • Software Proficiency:

    • Experience with ERP/PLM software.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for BOM and inventory tracking).
